This year’s celebration will feature all the parade favorites you love, too. There will be brilliant floats and entertaining lion dancers. Local school groups and marching bands will participate in full costume, as well. There will also be stilt walkers, amazing Chinese acrobats, and, yes, the Golden Dragon. Bring your camera and the whole family to experience this Parade in-person!

Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit

Each Chinese New Year welcomes a new spirit animal as its symbol. This year is the year of the rabbit. The rabbit is the fourth in the lineup of Chinese zodiac animal interpretations, and it's also considered to be the luckiest of all 12 animals. Those born in the year of the rabbit are said to be peaceful and calm. And the rabbit also symbolizes mercy, beauty, and elegance in Chinese culture.

Where to Go to Watch the Parade

The Lunar New Year Parade will proceed down Mott and Canal Streets into Chatham Square. It will then head to East Broadway, toward the Manhattan Bridge, and end on Eldridge and Forsyth Streets, next to Roosevelt Park.
