The rejuvenating and flourishing feeling that the spring season brings to New Yorkers is alive, and the cherry blossoms have already started blooming at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! Wake up your senses and experience the visually stunning cherry blossom trees as you stroll through over 70 flowering specimens in the Japanese Hill and Pond Garden at BBG. They only bloom for a limited time, so keep an eye on the Cherry Watch, which is updated daily for the best time to experience this seasonal phenomenon.
Cherry Blossom Season is the First Sign of Spring
Cherry blossoms bloom in NYC from late March until the middle of May. Temperature, rainfall, and other varying factors can contribute to the timing of the blooms. At the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the cherry blossom trees don’t all bloom at the same time. Instead, the different species blossom in succession, allowing for more opportunities to experience them.
All the flowering cherry varieties are located in different areas of the Japanese Hill and Pond Garden. Take a stroll through the Cherry Cultivators Area, the Cherry Walk, the Cherry Esplanade, and the Osborn Garden to see all the different species in varying colors.
