New York Dance Festivals in 2023

There are a host of dance festivals that delight New York residents and tourists every season. And there are a few dates to add to your January and February calendars if you want to experience or compete in these inspirational dance performances throughout Manhattan and NYC. If you’re looking for NYC events and celebrations to go to in 2023, these are the dance festivals to book. Prepare to be moved by the movement!

Ajkun Ballet Theatre’s New York Dance Festival

Start with this weeklong celebration of all styles and genres of dance. Beginning January 9th, 2023, you can experience solo performances, various ensembles, and choreographers. Participation is encouraged if you’re interested or know a dancer who may be interested in joining in to perform, as well. The New York Dance Festival’s February Competition

Check out the New York Dance Festival website to learn more about the various dance sessions planned on the schedule. For now, the official competition is slated to kick off in February, running from the 20th through the 26th. So, if you’re interested in participating, now’s the time to inquire! The registration deadline is February 1st, 2023.

Registration forms are available online now throughout a variety of dance participant categories, including:

  • Gentlemen Pro/Am Multi-Dance
  • Junior & Youth Entry
  • Mixed Amateurs Multi-Dance Entry
  • Pre-Teen Entry
  • Pro/Am & Student/Student Entry
  • Pro/Am Multi-Dance
  • Pro/Am Night Club Multi-Dance 
  • Pre-Teen, Junior, Youth Solo
  • Professional Entry
  • Amateur Formation Entry

This year’s dance event will be held at the Midtown Hilton Hotel for both the dance camp and the final competitions. There will be additional room for participants across all events, including the Juvenile, Junior, and Youth Championship events. As additional details become available, you’ll want to follow the New York Dance Festival’s “Tentative Schedule” and announcements.
