First Responders Weekend at Citi Field

August 12, 2022 Jessica Stewart

As an event planner in New York, you probably already have a few of your favorite sports teams. And even those not entirely into sports will typically root for one of the many NYC-based clubs. But regardless of who you’re rooting for in baseball, you should know there is always a calendar of themes and events happening at Citi Field.

If you’re just as loyal to your New York City first responders as you are about Major League Baseball, get tickets for the Mets games on Friday, August 26th, Saturday, August 27th, and Sunday, August 28th. It’s First Responders Weekend at Citi Field, and there will be tons of fun and giveaways for everyone!

Join the New York Mets in Recognizing NYC’s Finest

August 26th through August 28th, the Mets will be taking on the Colorado Rockies in a three-game, weekend series. But those games are also themed as First Responders Weekend. The Mets club will recognize local first responders with pre-game programming highlighting gratitude for all those who rush in first.

Attending fans all get a little something, too, to help commemorate this dedication. Each ticket purchased comes with a unique, limited edition First Responders Weekend Mets hat! Guests can redeem their hats at the Group Sales Redemption Booth, located behind Section 130, anytime upon arrival through the end of the fifth inning of play.

Game Times for First Responders Weekend

You can always check with the official MLB schedule to confirm times and to select your seats for the game. Here are game times for these games featuring First Responders.

  • Friday, August 26th: 7:10 PM
  • Saturday, August 27th: 7:10 PM

FAQs for First-Timers

If you haven’t been to Citi Field for a Mets game yet, you’re in for a real treat. As one of the league's newest ballparks, you can expect modern amenities and conveniences around every corner.

City Field is in Queens, nestled in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where the 1939 World’s Fair was formerly held. It’s close to the old Shea Stadium if that’s helpful in knowing where to go. The official address is 41 Seaver Way, Flushing, New York, 11368.

It’s worth familiarizing yourself with, even if you aren’t into baseball, because it’s a venue for a host of other New York events, too. Citi Field hosts the National Hockey League’s Winter Classic, other baseball series events, and even amateur soccer matches play there.

Tickets for Mets games at Citi Field will range depending on your seats. You can get your tickets today for as low as $10, but on average, tickets run about $59 each. Parking can run anywhere from $5 to $50, too, wherever you decide to park. If you have additional questions about tickets, pricing, and available seats, you can call Citi Field at (718) 507-8499.

Don’t worry if you’re not a Mets fan; you can still join the club at Citi Field for First Responders Weekend!
