Summer Streets is returning to New York City this August. It is an annual celebration of the public spaces and streets of NYC. The event is on August 6, 13, and 20. On each of those days, the event will be held between 7AM until 1PM. Summer Streets happens on Park Avenue from Brooklyn Bridge to East Harlem.
This car-free event separates off Park Avenue and connecting streets so residents can enjoy playing, walking, bike riding, and more. At the same time, there will be free art installations, live performances, and more at designated rest stops along the way.
Each year, approximately 300,000 people come out to be a part of the annual Summer Streets event. One of the pain priorities of Summer Streets is to promote sustainable forms of transportation and minimizing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
