What to Expect During Open House New York Weekend
Open House New York Weekend hosted its inaugural event in 2003 after much of the city was closed off due to increased security measures in the wake of 9/11. Open House New York has always stood for accessibility, openness, and civic dialogue by advocating for a city that is open to the public in the spirit of celebrating its greatness.
There are over 270 participating sites across the five boroughs to explore. Go beyond the normal “tourist trap” spots in the city and get a closer look inside some places that are generally off-limits to the public.
Most of the sites are “Open Access” and are completely free. For space and security reasons, some sites do require a ticket. Ticketing opens October 8th at 11:00 am.
