New York Fashion Week is back! This semi-annual NYC event creates a tremendous amount of buzz all over the city and around the world. Fashion designers will be showcasing their fall and winter collections to potential buyers, members of the media, and the general public. Even though some of the bigger shows are “invite only,” there are still plenty of shows open to the public. This highly anticipated event is the perfect time to celebrate fashion, discover new designers and brands, hear what the fashion influencers are talking about, and maybe even catch a celebrity sighting. What is New York Fashion Week?
New York Fashion Week is a semi-annual event that happens in February and September each year. Designers showcase their upcoming season’s collections to buyers, the press, and the general public. It’s an opportunity to see what’s trending in fashion and gain publicity for not only established designers but up-and-coming designers as well. NYFW is among the “Big Four” fashion weeks, along with London, Mulan, and Paris. It brings in over 200,000 people annually and is one of the city’s most celebrated and well-known events.

RXR’s Starrett-Lehigh Building will be the main venue for this season’s NYFW. Located in Manhattan’s West Side, it has fantastic views of the Hudson River, a restaurant by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, and multiple event spaces throughout the building.
Designers will be hosting events all over the city, so be sure to check their site for additional off-site shows. And if you can’t make it in person, some shows, panel discussions, and fashion film screenings will be live-streamed on Runway 360.
What is the Schedule for NYFW, and How Do I Get Tickets?
The NYFW schedule is packed full with multiple formats over six days. These formats include runway shows, presentations, special events, showrooms, and digital. While some formats are “invite only,” others are open to the public.
